DOMINION NATIONAL IS A LEADING INSURER AND ADMINISTRATOR OF DENTAL AND VISION BENEFITS. We seek a better way to serve you, so you can focus on what makes you extraordinary and fulfilled.

Arlington, Va. – Dominion National, a leading dental insurer and administrator of dental and vision benefits headquartered in Arlington, Va., announced that Dr. Wayne Silverman, Dental Director, will be delivering free dental services through the Mission of Mercy (MOM) Wise Clinic on July 12 and 13 at the UVA-Wise Convocation Center. Dominion also contributed a community grant that is being used to cover a portion of the 2019 costs for disposable dental supplies, dental equipment repairs and transportation, lodging and food for the dental students and volunteers.

The two-day event is projected to provide free, high-quality dental care to over 1,000 low-income individuals from Wise County and the surrounding areas. The MOM program operates mobile clinics across Virginia, particularly in rural areas, providing preventative, restorative and surgical dental treatments through the time and talent contributions of 2,500 volunteer dentists, other dental professionals and community members. Since 2000, more than 67,000 adults and children have benefited from over $46.2 million in donated dental care since the first project was held in Wise.

“In addition to dire economic and social challenges, many of our neighbors in Southwest Virginia struggle with little or no access to oral health care,” said Tara Quinn, Executive Director of the Virginia Dental Association Foundation (VDAF). “Thanks to support like that from Dominion National and the many volunteers, such as Dr. Wayne Silverman, the VDAF can help provide critically important oral health care to so many underserved in the region through our Mission of Mercy clinic in Wise.”

“I am thrilled to be a part of this fantastic and impactful event that provides free dental care to approximately 1,000 underserved Virginians,” said Silverman. “I have volunteered at several Mission of Mercy clinics over the years and this particular event continues to impress through the huge volunteer turnout and attendance.”

Dr. Silverman has more than 40 years of consulting, teaching and private practice experience. He is also a clinical instructor on the Dean’s faculty at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry.
