Arlington, Va. – Dominion National, a leading dental and vision insurer and administrator headquartered in Arlington, Va., and Capital BlueCross, a central Pennsylvania health insurance carrier and licensee of the BlueCross BlueShield Association, will present at the 2021 Star Ratings & Quality Improvement Summit (virtual conference) on January 22.

The companies’ presenters will address how teledentistry can help improve member satisfaction and engagement; the need to ensure access to important preventive care; and, the importance of data collection in disease management programs and star ratings. They will also discuss the advantages of incorporating dental options into Medicare Advantage programs, including increased membership, retention growth and association with lower medical cost of care.

Presenters include Dominion President Mike Davis, Dominion Vice President of Marketing Jeff Schwab, Capital BlueCross Senior Vice President of Government Programs Frank Fernandez and Capital BlueCross Vice President of Ancillary Services Chris Davis.

The conference offers a high-level forum featuring knowledgeable leaders and executives from the nation's leading health plans and health systems who will share their perspectives, valuable insights and expertise on how to be best equipped for the rapidly evolving and critical changes in achieving four- or five-star ratings. Health plans and providers are engaging in collaborative partnerships to improve quality, close gaps in care, improve patient outcomes and engage members while reducing spending and creating savings.

“Teledentistry can improve access to care while also serving as a tool to collect important data to help with chronic disease management programs for health plans,” said Dominion President Mike Davis. “Teledentistry and telemedicine present vast opportunities to improve the way we manage whole body health – particularly for seniors enrolled in Medicare programs.”
